Me, Myself and I

11 things

December 5, 2013

…you may not know about me.

I saw this meme on Kiki and Teaย {by Tamsinย who was inspired by Lana} as well as on Anna’s blog last week and figured I’d take it on as I was struggling with a case of blogger’s block. I’m not sure though if there are things you don’t know about me given that this is after all, a personal blog.

1. I used to bite my nails till I was about 16. The only way I eventually stopped was by constantly applying nail polish and having some friends monitor me. To compensate though, I chew on my skin occasionally.

2. I am currently overly obsessed with Ian Kenny — the lead singer of Karnivool and Birds of Tokyo. I have made a collage of him and use it as my desktop background on my work computer and my laptop. Plus I have a photo of him stuck on my wall at work. Additionally, I have already gone to see Birds of Tokyo and Karnivool live this year and I’m going yet again for a BOT concert in December and another Karnivool one in January. Just to be able to ogle at him and listen to his amazing voice! Did I say I was obsessed? {Please note, I’m not a stalker though!}

3. I used to be scared of the dark when I was younger. To the point where I needed my sister who is 5 years younger than me to go into a dark room with me.

4. I talk to myself a lot. Sometimes it’s a way of thinking out loud. Other times I just find it interesting to have conversations with myself. I read once it’s a sign of giftedness and I’m sticking with that.

5. In the last 12 months, I have not worn a pair of trousers to work at all. That’s a first for someone who loved pants and found them the most comfortable thing ever! Basically, I’ve been in skirts and dresses the entire time. After losing weight, I didn’t end up buying a pair of trousers and realised I can actually do without them. To think that prior to that, I just had one dress and one skirt! Now my wardrobe has too many of both!

6. There are some days I want to just sleep and not wake up until all my problems are solved. I know it’s completely avoidant and wishful thinking. But I’m ok with feeling that way every now and then.

7. I could not cook when I first left home at 21 even though my mum tried hard to teach me. Now though, I consider myself a pretty decent cook. A masterchef perhaps? ๐Ÿ˜›

8. I was told that I don’t have a chin. By my orthodontist. I still remember laughing about that. Apparently I don’t have the cleft or whatever that is that helps you grab on to someone’s chin. He said that some people have surgery. Because you know, that’s such an important part of the body! ๐Ÿ™„

9. I recently got my very first cavity. Thanks to all the chocolates and ice cream I have been indulging in since winter!

10. I have a thing where I cannot leave the volume of my stereo {either at home or in the car} on an odd number unless it’s a multiple of 5. I have no idea where I got that from.

11. I sometimes wish I could come up with an epiphany that would change the lives of people. Just as I have read or heard of others’ ideas that have changed my life. How amazing would that be?!

So there you go. You may have already known some of these but if not, hope you enjoyed the trivia!

Do share 11 things about yourself!

Until next time,

    Ditto 3, 4, 6 and 11.

Am curious. Why “11” things? Reason am asking is that I recently came across this book which intrigued me a lot, Rogerson’s Book of Numbers: The culture of numbers from 1001 Nights to the Seven Wonders of the World.

Haha…I have no idea why they went with 11. It actually messes with my need for even numbers or else multiples of 5, or just the number 7. That sounds like an interesting book though…

    i still bite my nails.

and i only have my thermostat, volume, etc set to odd numbers or multiples of 10. no even numbers otherwise. ๐Ÿ˜›

Haha…that’s the opposite of me…mine is even numbers and multiples of 5. ๐Ÿ˜› It’s sometimes nice to have quirks like that, isn’t it?! ๐Ÿ˜€

Ah you too…it’s an anxious trait.

And you better believe I couldn’t cook when I left home…mum was worried about how I was going to survive in Aus! ๐Ÿ˜›

Err…I talk to myself too. Glad to know it’s not a sign of the obvious (craziness), but giftedness!

Woah! Some awesome things to relate with! ๐Ÿ˜€
I too used to bite my nails and Applying Nailpolish was one of the solution to it among others!
I used to talk to myself a lot. But as I am growing up- writing things on blog and in my dairy has diluted that talking! It is indeed a gift ๐Ÿ™‚
    And I do hibernate a lot too! :)) Ditto with 6! ๐Ÿ™‚
