Me, Myself and I

Taking Stock #1

May 16, 2017

I have lots I want to blog about but for some reason, can’t seem to find the right words yet. So I thought I’d let the words flow by just Taking Stock. I have always wanted to write one of these posts but just never seemed to get to it. So five months into 2017, here’s me, taking stock.

Making: plans for cutting down my work hours
Cooking: easy-peasy healthy recipes thanks for 12WBT
Drinking: herbal teas and lots of it
Reading: Hidden Figures  by Margot Lee Shatterly {for Book Club} and Seven types of Ambiguity by Eliot Perlman
Wanting: peace of mind

Looking: for the meaning of life
Playing: with Pebbles and Buttons
Deciding: to chill this weekend
Wishing: I had more time to read and write
Enjoying: hiking again

Waiting: for the long weekend {in June}
Liking: that I’m not acting team leader anymore
Wondering: whether I should buy a Kindle or not
Loving: binge-watching shows on Netflix
Pondering: about how to deal with some shit at work

Considering: whether I’m going to need a blog planner
Buying: books {such a weakness!}
Watching: Netflix! Just finished Thirteen Reasons Why and The Good Wife. Onto Season Two of How to get away with murder
Hoping: I sort out my thoughts and write here again
Marvelling: at the beautiful colours of leaves during autumn

Cringing: at the thought that winter is almost upon us
Needing: more hours of sleep
Questioning: my decisions
Smelling: the crisp autumn air
Wearing: tights, skirts, jackets and scarves. Winter is near.

Following: some wonderful writers on social media
Noticing: the weather getting colder
Knowing: I need to exercise more
Thinking: about all the writing ideas
Admiring: some cosy down jackets

Sorting: my shit out in therapy
Getting: excited writing some more poems for my upcoming ebook
Bookmarking: writing magazines, groups and competitions
Coveting: a pair of long, black leather boots
Disliking: workplace politics

Opening: online shopping websites but not buying anything. Yet.
Giggling: at the black humour almost everyone on my team possesses
Feeling: overwhelmed
Snacking: on nuts, fruit and the occasional cheese and crackers
Helping: teenagers and young adults
Hearing: the worried thoughts in my head

Have you taken stock lately?

Hope life is treating you well.

This sounds like such a cool tag.
I loved to know a bit more about you, Sanch – hikes, books, Pebbles and Buttons, trying to shop online. It was like a sneak peek 🙂 Good one on taking stock.

wow…. what a cool post…. I remembered the days I bought books endlessly in my spinster life @chennai with my little salary and then regret later when I was on a tight budget by the end of the month. And so I understood how it becomes weakness 😉 …

I was wondering if this was going to be a saccharine sweet gratitude post or a rave and rant. But I was pleasantly surprised to read this delightful post with lovely pictures to make it a complete reading pleasure.
Books I don’t buy anymore because they’re one more thing to dust but I can understand your Winter apprehensions. Luckily for us in Mumbai Winter months are really lovely with none of the depressing features that people in other places face … cheer up! Spring isn’t far away!

I love this idea. The autumn leaves are so breathtaking at the moment! I am loving Netflix too, but needing to stop watching so I can read and write more. Have a beautiful day xx #mg

Lovely post! Books are my weakness – I cannot go into a bookshop and just browse!
Workplace politics are awful 🙁 So draining and difficult not to get dragged into.

It is a great idea to take stock every once in a while, it helps to focus the mind and that has to be a good thing sometimes doesn’t it? It sounds like you are going to have a busy year ahead – I hope it all goes smoothly and I look forward to following your journey from a London still waiting for summer to arrive! #mg

That;s a great tag! Made me think about so many things, and loved to read a little bit about what’s going on with you… Seriously a good exercise. Maybe we should all take this up around the half-year mark.
