Blogging Me, Myself and I

What’s my passion?

August 16, 2013

This morning I read a post by Chantelle about blogging which coincidentally is something I’ve been pondering about and discussing with a few people. As you know, Over Cups of Coffee is a personal blog and I cover a lot of things. But I had been wondering lately if I needed a niche. You know, blog about just a few things.

The problem for me though, is deciding what exactly that would be.

You see, I am passionate about a lot of things and I think they all come across on this space. I absolutely love psychology and advocating for mental health. As for feminism, well, if I get on my soapbox, it can become hard to stop me. I’m all for speaking about children’s rights and against discrimination of most forms. I love reading and I’m always found with books. I am crazy about the outdoors including exploring nature and seeing what this beautiful world has to offer us. I am almost fanatical about fitness and living a healthy life, more so in the past 12 months. I love movies, concerts and the theatre just as much as I love trying out different cuisines. I love new experiences and meeting new people {again, more so lately!}. And of course, I love writing.

I’m not lying when I say I truly am passionate about all of these. It comes across in my voice and my face when I’m talking about any of these. I notice my heart racing just that teeny bit faster. And my mood lift a lot more. A far cry from when I was once told I didn’t have a passion for anything.

So how then do I decide on a niche?

I guess the answer to that is, I don’t.

Because my passion is LIFE. And living it.

And that’s what I’m going to continue blogging about.

So what’s your passion? Do share!

Nice post.. So nice that you are passionate about so many things in life.. That’s why your blog is so beautiful and no one of us would want you to be particular in your writing.. You can just write about anything and everything.. And yes.. Never ever think of blogging about just few things.. I Write anonymously only because I will be able to write what I truely feel.. But I guess that’s what gives us pleasure in writing.. Writing not to please anyone but to write what we feel is right.. Keep writing..lovely blog.. Following you!

Welcome here Priya! Thanks for the lovely comment! And yes, I guess being passionate about so many things in life has its bonuses in that I can write about it all and in the end, it’s for me! Hopefully the enthusiasm does come across but in the end, I’m not too fussed as it’s stuff I want to tell. 🙂

I haven’t found my blogging niche yet, either… But you – your whole blog, everything you blog about, the wide range of topics…that IS your niche! I’d get bored if you’d post only about fitness or feminism, for example.

As for my passions…I’d say I’m passionate about animals, nature, NO LITTERING (gets me mad!), reading, writing…let’s keep this list at five, for the mo 😉

And seriously, what the school psychologist told you is a Very irresponsible thing to tell a 17 year old >.<

Haha…thanks for that Vivienne! Much appreciated! 🙂 Thanks for sharing your passions… 🙂

And yes, agree about that counsellor. I got the shits with him later but oh well. I wish I could see him now and tell him about all my passions! 😀
